It has been an exciting few months here at the Climate Equity Policy Center, and we are thrilled to share our latest publications, focused on preemption and the dangers it represents to democracy. Powerful business interests are increasingly using their concentrated state and federal political influence to strip local communities and governments of the power to pass laws to protect and support families and communities. With state legislatures currently in session, these efforts are specifically targeting key local policies for climate and equity. We hope this short infobrief and accompanying factsheet will provide action-oriented information about these threats, and help us keep moving toward our climate and equity goals.
