Michelle Lieberman

Architect
Michelle Lieberman is an architect and urban planner who works with communities around the country that are seeking to improve their built environment and active transportation initiatives. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona, a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of California, Irvine, and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health from the University of Florida. After working as a project manager and residential designer for an architecture firm, Michelle subsequently became a community planner at an engineering and planning firm and provided consulting services on a variety of projects for local and regional governments. Her core service areas included community engagement, active transportation, downtown and neighborhood revitalization, and community visioning. Currently, Michelle is the Consulting and Program Support Director at the Safe Routes Partnership where she oversees the Safe Routes Partnership’s technical assistance and consulting work that supports communities around the country. With a background combining architecture, urban planning, and public health, Michelle is committed to developing healthy, equitable communities through planning and policy development. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the California Planners4Health Steering Committee and was honored to be selected as the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals Nonprofit Professional of the Year in 2020.
